I thoroughly enjoyed the episodes of Nach Baliye in the weekend. It was a real treat to have my hero Shah Rukh popularly known as King Khan or SRK on the sets of Nach Baliye 4. Shah Rukh was looking a perfect dude. I am waiting for his next release Billo Barber. Shaeen Bhanot and Daljit Kaur had put up a great show and won the award of Nach Baliye. Naman Shaw and Megha Gupta the runner up. The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 50 lakhs and a shining Maruti Estello. Shah Rukh and Lara presented the prizes to Shaleen and Daljit. It was a great moment!

Nach Baliye 4 was being aired on Star Plus. After some great entertainment this season I am hoping they will come up with Nach Baliye 5 soon. Meanwhile, I am sure I will be hooked to some other reality show. My friend Sonia was telling me that Star One and Star Plus show some very great desi programs. Nach Baliye 4 Grand Finale -May the best couple win

Last weekend Nach presented Maha Muqabala Round 1. Shaleen and Daljit who are strong contenders for the Nach trophy which comes along with Rs 50 lakhs and a car were dancing on skates on Friday. Farah was sceptical of their performance and commented that the jodi should not have risked their performance by dancing on skates. Thankfully, the duo performed fabulously on Saturday securing their position in the grand finale. Competing with Shaleen and Daljit are Naman and Megha. Both Naman and Megha have come a long way. They have put in their hearts to this dance show and it reflects in their performance. Make sure that you tune into the grand finale this weekend.

Delicious paranthas for Yug- Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajna

Three things that I miss about India is Mooli ke paranthe (roasted bread filled with radish filling), malai wali lassi (yougurt with cream) and mom! When I came to the US for my graduation, I was so excited about the freedom of living on my own. Gradually, it dawned that this freedom had lots of strings attached especially for a vegetarian. After surviving on Mc D’s veggie burger and coke for several months in a row, I decided to cook! Well, I have progressed as a great cook because my friends raid my fridge for leftovers!
Tonight, I am planning to try mooli ke paranthe. The inspiration comes from Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajna! The cute Vrinda had prepared the paranthas for her beau in the last episode. Although Vrinda tells Yug that the paranthas are leftover from the morning, Yug finds out that Vrinda had specially prepared the dish for him. Hmm, both the paranthas and the chemistry between Yug and Vrinda appeared great.

Dill Mill Gaye-Armaan got a new responsibility

In the last episode of Dill Mill Gaye, aired on Star One, Dr. Armaan got a new responsibility. Dr. Shubhankar assigned him to the Colonel’s case. Though it’s a difficult one, yet Dr. Shubhankar trusts Armaan blindly. He thinks that if anybody can deal with this case, its only Dr. Armaan. We all trust him, don’t we? Atleast I do. The phrase beauty with brains usually goes with feminine gender but in this case, I personally want to alter it with looks coupled with intelligence. With his brainpower, I am sure he will be able to help Colonel recover very soon.

Dill Mill Gaye is a huge hit in California as well. All the Indians in California watch this serial dedicatedly.

Dill Mill Gaye-Armaan in disguise

Armaan of Dill Mill Gaye has discovered a new look for himself, which is quite similar to the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi look of Shahrukh Khan. Armaan is trying hard to impress his would be father-in-law, Dr. Shashank. In the process, he transformed himself from a funky dude look to a simple suburb one with moustache and oily hair. His looks were so deceptive that even his friends could not recognize him. At this point, the serial touched its crescendo of excitement. I really enjoyed watching this episode and I hope to see many more such episodes in future. These serials are the only source through which we can stay in touch with our country. Otherwise, life in Texas would be boring without these entertaining soaps.

Amrita Rao sets the Nach Baliye stage on fire

I loved Nach Baliye’s last episode on Saturday. It was a real treat to see my favorite star- Amrita Rao- as a special guest on Nach. I have been eagerly waiting for her upcoming movie- Victory! Amrita looks ravishing in the promos of Victory. In fact she looked all the more beautiful in Nach Baliye.

The whole stage was on fire when Amrita entered with a rocking performance on one of the songs from Victory. It was quite witty of her as she wished all the jodis a victorious evening!

All effort of Armaan to conceal his love story from Dr Shubhankar have gone to a waste. The cat is out of the bag; Dr Shubankar has finally realized that Dr Ridhima’s boy friend is Dr Armaan and not Dr Atul. This has put Dr Shubhankar in a fix. He has not only shown Armaan’s love letter to Dr Shashank but he has also convinced Dr Shashank that it was written by Dr Atul. What will be his next step is yet to been seen. The last episode of Dill Mill Gaye, shown on Star Plus, was highly entertaining. At first, Abhimanyu insults Nikita in front of everybody for having coffee in the corridor, which was against the rule. Then again, Nikita gets a chance to exact revenge. She smudges cake over Abhimanya’s face intentionally to bring his down his airs. It’s really fun to watch them. I think it’s the beginning of a new love story. Almost all Indians in Texas follow Dill Mill Gaye regularly.

Nach Baliye 4 is actively scouting for a dance partner for Harshad. The dashing dude of Kis Desh mein hein mera dil fame has a great female fan following all over India and a few of us in America :-)
The auditions have been taking place all over the country. After shaking a leg with Bong beauties Harshad was seen eyeing the lovely lasses in Lucknow last weekend.

So, how does Harshad feel about finding his dance jodi. "I may not be the greatest dancer, but I am certain that when teamed up with her, we put up the best performance the world will see!” says the handsome hunk. Amidst the entire emotional saga in Save Sanjeevani concert on Dill Mill Gaye, what came as a comic relief was the ring exchange misunderstanding between Dr. Shubhankar and Dr. Muskan. Dr. Shubhankar misplaced his ring for proposing to Dr. Kirti, which was found by Dr. Muskaan. She found it in her bag and thought that Rahul had got it for her. We chuckled at the somewhat farcical revelation of truth. Nonetheless, Dill Mill Gaye is one of the best desi shows one can watch in Boston.

Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajna- YuVi rock

Tujh sang preet lagayi sajna is a lovely romantic soap on Star Plus. The show is aired on weekdays from Monday through Thursday. I really liked last Monday’s episode. Yug and Vrinda look so good together. It was simply heart-warming when Yug tells Vrinda that she is a part of his heart. Yug delivered all those romantic lines with passion. All my friends are in love with the Canada returnee- Mr. Yug!

I liked the scene when Vrinda puts an apple on Yug’s head. Yug looked so scared but when Vrinda runs to her he gets into his usual jolly self. The cutest scene was when Yug winks at Vrinda. Balle balle, love is definitely in the air!

“Arre Deewano Mujhe Pehchano will be aired on STAR PLUS today” chirped Soha on phone this morning. Soha is a newly married girl who has come to the US after her marriage with Susant. Soha is a very cheerful girl and a great cook. She found it quite dull in the US, when she had to spend the whole day on her own. That was until Susant got all the Indian channels for her.

Yug and Vrinda fall in …

Kunal Verma and Pooja Bose, who play the characters of Yug and Vrinda in Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna literally fell in love! No, I am not talking about their off screen chemistry but the couple fell off a bike while shooting a scene for Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna. Both of them were rushed to the hospital. Yug and Vrinda’s fans need not worry as the two suffered minor injuries only.
Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna is a nice love story being aired on Star Plus. The story is loosely based on the bollywood flick Saudagar. You can tune into Star India Plus at 10 pm Monday through Thursday to watch this soap. It is good that Star India Plusis available in the US. Some very good programs are aired on Star India Plus.

Anushka Sharma rocks in Nach Baliye 4

Nach Baliye 4 had set the stage for the most fabulous New Year Party. Anushka Sharma who has stolen millions of hearts after her performance in Rab ne bana di jodi made her appearance as a judge in Nach Baliye in last week’s episode. The performances were amazing and Anushka rated each of the couples on a jodimeter. Her ratings reflected the chemistry and love quotient between the dancing couples.

I really admire Anushka’s dancing skills. She set the stage on fire when she danced on the popular track ‘chance pe dance kar le’ from Rab ne bana di jodi. She is popular among the NRI circle in Chicago.
